Message because I don't see how the fuel ever comes in contact with the coil where it degrades unless the fuel passes the O-ring of the spring guide and the O-rings which insulate the electrical post as outlined in DVDBURN's comprehensive analysis of the causes of injector failure (thanks again DVDBURN).

If ethenal is the cause it must pass by two O-rings and attack the electrical coil connections whereas gas without ethanol does none of this?? Plus wouldn't other injectors of the same era have the same problem? Seems rather unlikely to me. More likely it's just a pis poor design using insufficient epoxy materials or rubber that degrades as a function of time or other factors.

Regardless of the exact cause I agree the only option is to replace the injectors with ones which are more capable.

Cheers, Greg.
